Many of our longest and most and enduring partnerships start off like any courtship as was the case with Active Community Housing.

Active provides high quality community housing and support to people with disabilities who require support to live and participate in their communities across Victoria.

For the past year, under a head contractor agreement, Active has been providing maintenance services to many of our metropolitan based properties.

It was through this commercial arrangement that, according to Active CEO Chris Glennen, “we got to know each very well”.

“Working closely with Ken (Marchingo) and the team was the impetus for taking things to the next level,” Chris said.

“And it was also in line with our Board’s directive to seek out partnerships with organisations with shared values.”

On August 26 a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to formalise the partnership.

According to Chris, the MOU enables the organisations to leverage their respective skills and knowledge, increasing capacity and capability to develop and deliver more disability housing and support for people with high complex needs in the emerging NDIS space.

“We look forward to stepping up our offering in 2016-2017 and working even more closely with the Haven; Home, Safe team,” Chris said.
